Olanib 150 mg (120 Tablets) is used to treat adult patients with epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube or primary peritoneal cancer and EGFR-2 negative breast cancer. It is used alone or in combination with Bevacizumab to treat Ovarian cancer, Fallopian Tube Cancer and Peritoneal cancer in adult patients who have received their first therapy successfully.

Olanib is a targeted therapy, works by blocking the protein that stimulates cancer cells to grow.

Dosage and Administration of Olanib 150 mg

Ovarian cancer

• To treat recurrent ovarian cancer 300 mg(6 Olanib 50 mg tablets or 2 Olanib 150 mg tablets) by mouth two times a day until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity.
• For advance ovarian cancer 300 mg Olanib by mouth two times a day until disease progression or 2 years settlement.
• Advance ovarian cancer in combination with Bevacizumab 300 mg olanib plus 15 mg/kg bevacizumab in every 3 weeks for a total 15 months includinig chemotherapy and maintainance. Patients with complete response stop treatment after two years. Otherwise patient can continue with evidence of disease.

Breast Cancer

• 300 mg Olanib tablet daily twice by mouth until disease progression or for total one year which one happens first.

For Pancreatic cancer and metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer 300 mg of olanib tablet should be used until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Based on findings from animal studies, research on animal rats shows this statistics that taking olanib tablet during pregnancy have a risk of fetal harm to fetus. Childbearing potential women should take proper contraception during treatment and for at least six month after treatment. Based on findings from reproductive studies, male patient should also take proper contraception during treatment and should not donate sperm after 3 months of treatment.

Women who are feeding breast to their children are advise not to feed breast milk at least one month after of treatment.
