Counterfeit and substandard medicine is a serious risk in global healthcare. At Onus Pharma, we protect our patients by maintaining strict control over where we get our products. We operate directly out of Dhaka, Bangladesh—a major global hub for generic pharmaceutical manufacturing—which allows us to work closely with the factories that actually make the medicine.

Our sourcing policy is built on direct relationships, heavy documentation, and strict physical storage requirements.

Who We Buy From

We do not buy from unverified third-party brokers or gray-market wholesalers. We source our medications directly from licensed pharmaceutical manufacturers and their authorized national distributors.

We work with top-tier, heavily regulated companies including Everest Pharmaceuticals, Drug International Ltd., and Incepta Pharmaceuticals. Before we add any supplier to our network, we verify that their production facilities hold a current WHO-GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certification.

Proof of Authenticity and Batch Tracking

We treat every box of oncology or antiviral medicine as if a family member were taking it. To ensure you receive genuine medication, we trace our inventory directly to the factory line.

  • Certificate of Analysis (CoA): We require CoAs for the batches we source. This document proves that laboratory testing has confirmed the medicine’s active ingredients match the label.
  • Batch Logging: We record the batch numbers, manufacturing dates, and expiry dates of the medicines we process. If a manufacturer ever issues a recall, we know exactly which shipments are affected.

Sourcing Generic Medications

Many of the treatments we source are generic versions of expensive brand-name oncology and specialty drugs. We only source generics that are legally manufactured under local patent laws or WTO agreements.

We vet our suppliers to ensure the generic medications they produce contain the exact same Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API), dosage, and safety profile as the original innovator drug. We will never substitute a prescribed brand or specific generic manufacturer without your doctor’s explicit approval.

Pre-Shipment Storage and Handling

A medicine’s cold chain doesn’t start when it enters the mail—it starts the moment it leaves the factory.

  • Temperature Monitoring: For specialty drugs that require 2°C to 8°C storage, we maintain strict temperature controls in our holding facilities before packing.
  • Visual Inspection: Before any medicine goes into an insulated shipping box, our team visually inspects the factory seals, packaging integrity, and expiry dates. If a box is crushed or a seal looks tampered with, it does not get shipped.

5. Supplier Audits and Removal

If a manufacturer loses its WHO-GMP status, faces serious regulatory warnings regarding quality control, or fails to provide batch documentation, we immediately stop sourcing from them. We update our product availability based on the current regulatory standing of the manufacturers.
